O human being… O child of Adam, O reader, O you who heard the first call: May your Lord have mercy on you…﴾Recite in the name of your Lord who created -﴿

Here you stand, opening the gate of the second covenant—

a covenant not written with ink, but with light.

You step from the call to certainty, from knowledge to contentment, from the word by which you were created to the word that returns you to Allah.

This book does not take you back to the beginning…

It takes you back to the origin, to the first covenant—the Day when it was said to you in the realm of atoms: “Am I not your Lord?” and you replied: “Yes.”

From that answer, the journey began—a journey that has not yet ended.

Here you discover that Adam was never a tale to be recited, but the name that lives within you—

the name you carry every morning, forgetting that its letters contain your eternal answers:

A = Allah is your Lord.

D = Your religion is Islam.

M = Muḥammad ﷺ is the Prophet and Messenger of Allah.

But the secret of Adam is not complete without what came from him: the father and the mother.

Your father is the basmalah with which every step in your life begins—

the hand that taught you to say In the name of Allah before you walk, before you speak, before you dream.

He is the support that lifted you, the shade that sheltered you, the beginning that taught you that every beginning is only through Allah.

And your mother… she is the gate to Paradise.

She is the first to teach you the meaning of mercy before you even knew letters.

She is the prayer that guards you as you sleep, the door that remains open even when the world closes all its doors.

And if you fall a thousand times, her doorway reminds you that Allah never closes His door to the one who returns weeping.

From the father you took the basmalah,

and from the mother you opened the gate of Paradise,

and between them the first covenant was born within you—

the covenant of the human being in whom Allah has placed His presence.

But the covenant is not tested by light alone; it is tested by darkness as well.

For just as Jibrīl was sent with light to teach you: Read,

Iblīs stepped out from among the ranks— adorning the word so its meaning flips,

clothing falsehood in the garment of mercy, selling embellishment as if it were light,

until the faces of truth and desire become confused before people.

And after him came the Dajjāl, carrying a face that resembles light,

but with eyes filled with the darkness of deception—

telling people: I am salvation, I am the light, I teach you piety without a Book!

So he deceives those who forgot the commandment,

and fails only with those who hold fast to the Book,

just as Jibrīl taught the first time:

﴾The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down

Upon your heart, —that you may be of the warners.﴿

[Surah Ash-Shu‘arā’, 26:193–194 — Sahih International]

And in a single moment, the eternal struggle is unveiled:

the light of Jibrīl confronting the darkness of Iblīs, the voice of the Qur’an rising above the noise of trial, hearts falling into prostration, screens turning dark,

and only one word filling the earth and the heavens:

﴾Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.﴿ [Surah An-Nūr, 24:35 — Sahih International]

Here, you realize that Al-Fātiḥah was never merely a chapter to be recited,

but a seven-step ladder ascending to the Face of Allah.

Each verse is a gate.

Each letter is light.

Each “Āmīn” is a tear with which you sign your eternal covenant.

The Straight Path is not a road on earth— it is a thread of light stretching from your forehead to the Throne.

Every prostration is a return to the beginning, to the moment when Adam first said: Al-ḥamdu lillāh.

And if Al-Fātiḥah is your covenant, then Adam is the gate, and the circle of contentment is the seal— the place where the heart resides, fearing nothing, hoping for nothing except the Face of Allah that never fades.

There, certainty reveals itself— and you understand that Allah’s promise is never delayed.

Contentment blossoms— and you realize that destiny is another face of Allah’s mercy.

And there, in the presence of light, Jibrīl stands at your highest horizon,

spreading his wings above your heart, whispering as he whispered to Muḥammad ﷺ in the cave:

﴾Recite, and your Lord is the Most Generous— Who taught by the pen.﴿

[Surah Al-‘Alaq, 96:3–4 — Sahih International]

You weep because now you know

that the light which descended upon the Prophet ﷺ is the very light being offered to you—

so that you may complete the trust, the commandment with which revelation ended:

{I enjoin upon you the Book of Allah…

and I enjoin upon you the fear of Allah.}

For taqwā is not fear of the Fire— it is a constant awareness of Allah’s presence,

a love that guides your steps, a light dwelling in your chest so you wrong nothing.

It is a covenant that cannot be broken, a shield that cannot be pierced,

a light that never goes out.

In this journey, you move from Read to Āmīn, from Al-‘Alaq to Al-Fātiḥah,

from clay to light, from trial to contentment.

You see Mūsā parting the sea before your heart,

Īsā extending a hand of mercy to wipe away your fear,

Jibrīl surrounding you from above,

and Muḥammad ﷺ smiling at you, saying:

{I enjoin upon you the Book of Allah.

I enjoin upon you the fear of Allah.}

And when you close this book, you will not truly close it.

You will close the page of the old world to begin your own.

You will feel that your heart has been born anew— and that the journey you thought was a search outward was, all along, the path returning inward, to the point from which you began: Allah.

O human being… O child of Adam, O reader— this book does not teach you how to believe.

It reminds you whom you believed in before you were born.

It is a mirror in which you see yourself after you are purified of all names

and stand before the One Name that is spoken only with reverence: Allah.

So, O you who heard the first call— Allah now calls you again:

Be certain.

Be content.

Live with the fear of Allah.

For between the beginning and the end, nothing remains except the covenant.

Nothing endures on earth except contentment.

Nothing lasts in the heavens except those who feared Allah and were guided by His light.
